She was consultant in Ozone Action Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of the Technology, Industry and Economics (UNEP DTIE) in Paris.
During her UNEP assignment she developed the media strategy for the organization. She bagged Gunwant Kamgar Award for her excellent work in Bank in 1994. In 2007 she was awarded for her environmental work at the 20th Anniversary of Montreal Protocol, in Montreal Canada. She is awarded a Doctorate by University of Pune for her thesis ‘Global Environment Management through Indian Wisdom’ under the guidance of
Dr. P C Shejwalkar.
Dr. Vinitaa Apte being a banker was very popular and communicative. She started her banking career in 1984. During her banking career she was also passionate about Marathi programmes. Being a great actress, innovative writer and very promising TV anchor, she developed many Marathi programmes which became very popular. She has compared more than 5000 programmes around the globe.
After 25 years of service in public sector bank she took voluntary retirement and joined the most prestigious United Nation Environment Programme as consultant-communication expert in Ozone Action at Paris Office. During her three years of consultancy she implemented the media campaigns, social media out reach in 198 countries.
She came back from Paris in 2010 and established her own organization “TERRE Policy Centre”. She is passionate to work on environment and for the youth and women empowerment
Invited as a keynote speaker at British Parliament on Geeta & the Environment.
Participated in COP 24, Poland and organized side event on Water Resource Conservation and Management for Climate Resilient Development.
Participated in COP23, Bonn, Germany and organized 2 side events at India Pavilion on: Afforestation and Increase in Forest Cover, REDD+ Climate Change and the Himalayan Ecosystem.
Participated in COP 22, Morroco and presented paper on Afforestation & REDD + Organized side Event at India Pavilion on Women & Energy.
Received Gunwant Kamgar Award in 1994 as excellent performer at the Bank.
Presented paper on Sensitive Ecosystem at the International Conference in Beijing organized by UNESCO.

She has written numerous articles for the national/ international news papers and magazines and very active on social media. Her book on positive thoughts is now entitled for the syllabus of Pune University.
